National Head Office Role | Major Pipelines, Civil & Renewable Energy Projects | Set up Projects for Success | Preparation, Negotiation & Execution Company This Contractor is part of an extremely well-regarded international Construction group with their Australian Head in Melbourne. Operating across the major Pipeline Construction, Civil and Renewable Energy Construction sector in Australasia, they now have an opportunity for a Senior Contracts Administrator to join their commercial team. Role The Senior Contracts Administrator will play a critical role in overseeing contract administration for various major construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, drafting contract notices and responding to subcontractor payment and variation claims. This position also involves corporate commercial tasks to assist projects particularly during start up, such as preparing project subcontracts, arranging bank guarantees and parent company guarantees, and managing insurance claims. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with contractual terms and corporate policies to contribute to the overall commercial success of projects. Responsibilities include; Responsible for Head Contract contractual administration and supporting nominated Subcontractor contractual administration. Implement effective contract management processes to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. Establish and maintain a register of Head Contract variations and EOTs and manage the change request process. Administer the Head Contract in accordance with its terms and conditions including preparing progress claims and notices and ensuring that any timeframes under the Head Contract are complied with. Overseeing the entire Subcontracts lifecycle, from initial negotiations to subcontract execution and closeout. Manage all facets of the administration of Head Contracts and nominated Subcontracts, including variations, delays, other claims, correspondence, and general administration in accordance with company systems and the Security of Payments legislation. Preparing commercial sections of project monthly reports under the Head Contract. Working with quantity surveyor and/or engineers to value progress of work performed to date and assess the impact of any changes on project costs and forecast cost to complete at both Head Contract and Subcontractor levels. Upon award (or pending award) of a project contract, prepare template notices and risk and obligations matrix for contract administrative purposes. Amending subcontract templates so they are compliant and back-to-back (where possible) with head contracts. Procure insurance certificates, performance securities and parent company guarantees as required for contract compliance. Requirements To secure this great opportunity, we are seeking a candidate who meets the following criteria; Legal, business, or commercial contracts background and associated qualifications Strong financial and commercial acumen Accuracy in analysis and reporting detail Ability to form strong relationships across the various internal teams An eye for detail even when working under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to work independently, with some supervision and to take initiatives Ability to identify and quantify changes and delays to the Project accurately and in a timely manner.
