Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on. About the role We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Insurance Litigation Team on a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract. Based in our Brisbane CBD office, this role will suit candidates looking to grow whilst helping everyday Australians. Our Insurance Litigation Team assists individuals in a wide range of insurance disputes. We particularly focus on people who have ceased work due to an illness or injury, to make a claim as part of the insurance cover attached to their superannuation. This provides individuals and their families with a level of security when they are no longer able to work. The type of claims ranges from Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) Claims, Income Protection and Life Insurance Claims. We also pursue general insurance disputes, business interruption claims and professional negligence claims against financial advisors and other financial service providers. This is an opportunity to be mentored and coached by a humble yet incredibly talented team of legal experts. We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience as a Legal Assistant/Secretary/Paralegal; Works effectively with others and fosters positive relationships; Contributes to team success and collaborates seamlessly; Is resourceful and resilient, you find creative solutions and adapt to challenges; Using your exceptional administrative skills you are determined and motivated to make a difference, driving successful outcomes; You’re client focused with a genuine passion for helping people; Ability to liaise with internal and external clients; Excellent organisational and time management skills; Ability to prioritise and work under time constraints; Answer all incoming client enquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate, and action incoming mail; Provide accurate updates and information to clients within a timely manner and manage expectations; Manage the administration and documentation of all client files from open to close; Arrange and manage diaries, appointments and meetings; Action all incoming mail.
