Description DIRECTORATE: Business, Growth & Community CLASSIFICATION: Grade 3 SALARY: $27.71 to $30.49 per hour 11.5% employer contribution to superannuation REPORTING TO: Supervisor Airport Cafe and Bar EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent Part Time THE POSITION: To provide excellent customer service to Albury Airport customers and assist in the efficient operation of the cafe, bar and terminal facility. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist customers with sales/purchases required in a friendly and courteous manner Provide a high level of hospitality expertise in food and beverage handling and presentation Operate POS registers for Cafe and Bar sales, including reconciliation, daily banking, eftpos and change bags Cleaning in the following areas: foyer table/chairs, lounge areas, bench tops, cafe, bar and store all equipment used for food cooking and presentation ie; coffee maker, salad bar, grilles, toasters, microwave, pie warmer, deep fryer and range hood filters floor areas in bar, cafe, cool room and when necessary cafe service areas refrigerators, counter top and fronts, bench, cool room interior, bar fridge doors, shelves and glassware Restock fridges, newspapers, magazines and confectionary Maintain absolute cleanliness inside and outside cafe - especially in food preparation and sales areas Assist with re-ordering of stock items and stocktaking when required Report back to supervisor regarding any maintenance issues and other relevant information Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training. Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS. Qualifications KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal Albury City Staff External General public Airline Staff Suppliers EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Hours of work will be based on a 38 hour week, working an average of 25 hours per week over a 3 week rotating cycle, actual days and times will be in accordance with the 7 day/week facility roster Airport Cafe operational hours are generally 5.15am - 6:30pm The above working arrangement falls within the definition of a 7 day rotating roster under the Local Government (State) Award 2023. Accordingly, there is an entitlement to accrue 5 weeks of annual leave each year. Hours worked on weekends or outside the span of ordinary hours will attract the appropriate loadings. Payment for all hours worked and periods of leave will be as per the 7 day/week facility roster. Additional hours up to 38 hours per week may be worked by agreement, and this will be paid at the ordinary rate of pay. The position will be required to perform the tasks of "Duty Supervisor" on weekends as per the roster and this will attract additional payment. This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check. This position involves working both indoor and outdoor, along with computer work. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the work day - depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. Appropriate WHS standards will be applied for all manual handing activity. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position. This position requires you to wear a compulsory uniform as per AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely. This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing. This position is located at the Albury Airport, with occasional visits to external sites/depots as required. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Food handling qualifications Customer Service Training Class C (standard) Driver's Licence EXPERIENCE Experience in the hospitality industry Experience in supervising a small team Experience in a customer focused environment including cash handling SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of cash handling and receipting Knowledge of cleaning practices Ability to reconcile and calculate daily banking Ability to operate a bar Ability to order stock and liaise with suppliers Demonstrated ability to present food, beverages and products in an attractive manner An understanding of WH&S principles Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft Excel
