We are looking for exceptional Design Lead and two Design Managers for a major Renewable Energy project 2 Years Contract (Sydney CBD or Armidale NSW Our client is seeking a Design Lead and two different Design Managers for a substantial natural energy resources project in the country. The timing of the project is approximately from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2026. Role Details: Design Lead Role responsibilities and requirements • Support the Technical Lead in carrying out their responsibilities • Establish and manage all design aspects of the project in conjunction with the Technical Advisor, in accordance with the Project Deed and Technical Requirements Scope of Services 12 Role Responsibilities and Requirements • Ensure the Network Operator (NO) consortia designs are compliant with the Technical Requirements and non-conformances are resolved • Manage the design and review in accordance with the design management plan and program • Manage design across civil, delivery, substation, and transmission line disciplines • Ensure the design supports the WHS management plan, policies, and objectives • Support other technical workstreams by coordinating design inputs • Management of team members in accordance with EnergyCo policies, delegations, organisational chart, and project budget • The design is completed in accordance with the environmental approvals (NSW and Commonwealth) consistent with the terms of the Project Deed and program Role requirements • Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience on major linear infrastructure projects. • Experience on major greenfield infrastructure projects ($2bn). • Technical experience in the electricity transmission and/or renewable energy sector. • Experience in the government sector. • Understanding of the technical environment applicable to NE REZ. • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to NE REZ Design Manager – Road & Survey Design Manager - Lines & Substations Role responsibilities Three Design Managers to support the Design Lead in carrying out their responsibilities. (One Design Manager is focused on constructability, civil, operation and maintenance (O&M), and utilities has been FILLED) One Design Manager is focused on road upgrades, geotechnical, land surveys, models and related works. Road upgrades is a large component of the New England REZ project. One Design Manager is focused on line and substation designs. All Design Managers ensure design reviews are conducted in accordance with the Technical Requirements and design reviews are appropriately work flowed to delegated reviewers and approvers on time. All Design Managers will support and oversee subcontractors and technical service providers, ensuring deliverables meet project expectations. Support the review of Network Operator (NO) and generator and storage designs, engineering and equipment specifications in accordance with the Technical Requirements Support the NE REZ project team and wider EnergyCo team in developing approaches for technical NE REZ matters, including connection processes, system strength determination, and physical connection arrangement. Effective and timely communication with decision-makers and stakeholders relating to NE REZ. Scope of Services 13 Role Responsibilities and Requirements Meet EnergyCo’s requirements for governance, reporting, risk management, confidentiality, and probity. Role requirements Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience on major linear infrastructure projects. Experience on major greenfield infrastructure projects ($2bn). Technical experience in the renewable energy sector and transmission projects. Experience in the government sector. Understanding of the technical environment applicable to NE REZ. Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to NE REZ.
