Job Description The Company Our client, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join their team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the organization’s database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. The Role The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database systems. This role requires extensive experience in ARCGis, ESRI, SQL, and a deep understanding of database architecture. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of database solutions. Key Responsibilities: Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and availability. ARCGis and ESRI Support: Provide expert-level support and management of ARCGis and ESRI database systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation. SQL Development: Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support business applications and reporting needs. Database Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of database solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Implementation & Support: Oversee the implementation of new database systems and upgrades, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed. Data Security: Implement and maintain robust data security measures, including encryption, access control, and auditing. Performance Tuning: Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization of database systems to ensure efficient operation. Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, data analysts, and IT teams to support database-related initiatives and projects. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on ARCGis, ESRI, and SQL. Strong knowledge of database architecture, implementation, and support. Proficiency in SQL programming and optimization. Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting. Excellent understanding of data security best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience with cloud-based database systems (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle DBA, ESRI) are highly desirable.
