Early Childhood Teacher Lady Gowrie is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher for our Gordon Square Long Day Care Service. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age. Role: Early Childhood Teacher Locations: Gordon Square, George Town, Northern Tasmania Employment Type: Part-time, 4 days per week, 8 hours per day (Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri) ABOUT THE ROLE As an Early Childhood Teacher you will work closely with our Education and Care Practitioners demonstrating and mentoring in Pedagogy & Practice and work in ratio. The Gordon Square Long Day Care Service has 20 – 30 children each day with 11 Education and Care Practitioners and an Educational Leader working with our Northern Services supporting Pedagogy and Practice. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will: Work closely with our educators and develop programs tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. Ensure compliance as a mandated reporter in accordance with the services Child Protection policy and procedures. Identifying and responding to children at risk Promote positive, comforting, and nurturing relationships with children. Be proactive in ensuring currency in best early childhood practice. Providing experiences to support children’s play and learning. Listening to children, including interpreting words and actions to determine a child's individual needs. Using storytelling, drama, music and discussion to develop language and vocabulary. ABOUT YOU Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, or equivalent (ACECQA approved) A sound understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework Ability to lead and work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills Accredited Child Protection Training Current anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training.
