About the Centre Fawkner Leisure Centre is focused around the local community, specifically fostering strong community ties and a sense of belonging. At Fawkner Leisure Centre you can learn to swim, enjoy a barista made coffee from our cafe, exercise with lap swimming in our indoor pool, relax in our spa and sauna, or cool off in summer in our outdoor heated pools. We also offer single gender programs including: casual swimming men-only sessions; casual swimming women-only sessions; and women's swimming lessons. The Centre consists of a heated 25-meter indoor pool, heated 50-meter outdoor pool, toddler pool, spa, sauna, fully equipped gym and group fitness rooms. About the role As part of the Centre Leadership Team, the Senior Centre Coordinator will provide leadership to teams across the centre, with direct responsiblity for Aquatic and School Programs, Customer Service, the Cafe and centre administration support. You will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals, ensuring quality services are delivered across the centre, meeting the diverse needs of the Fawkner and surrounding Merri-bek communities. Senior Coordinators assist the Manager by working as part of the Manager on Duty roster, where they provide support to customers and staff across all areas of the facility, and may act as a delegate or deputy of the Manager. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following; Create a customer experience that is vibrant, welcoming and inclusive across the Centre. Establish new Cafe and Centre Hub maintaining an ongoing food and beverage experience for our customers during opening hours. Ensure programs and services are delivered in accordance with operating budgets, objectives and Key Performance Indicators. Delivery of high quality swimming lessons that provide students with skills for life. Develop and implement innovative swimming programs and curricula. Supervise and mentor direct and indrect reports, providing guidance and support to enhance service effectiveness. Manage schedules, maintain equipment, and handle any issues related to the aquatic program, customer service and Cafe areas. About you We're looking for an outstanding communicator with demonstrated leadership skills in Aquatic Programs and Learn to Swim who is looking to expand their leadership capabilities into other areas and manage multiple teams. The successful applicant will be passionate about supporting connectivity and participation in active lifestyles and swimming, delivering quality services for a diverse community, and will be proactive in contributing ideas and resolutions to centre-wide issues. Ideally, you'll also have: 1-2 years leadership experience in aquatic programming and learn to swim. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Great written and verbal communication skills with the capability to deal confidently and courteously with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development and/or delivery of services designed for diverse customer groups.
