If so, then we would like to hear from you About the role We are currently recruiting two Senior Engineering Officer’s within the Substation Design team. The preferred locations are: Ballina Orange Port Macquarie Wagga Wagga Griffith Note: Other regional centres may be considered on request. Within the role you will be working with a team that is made up of supportive and collaborative professionals that strive to achieve excellent results in all aspects of their work. The team takes pride in their level of attention to detail and ensure that there is positive satisfaction from all internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of their high-quality designs. As one of the Senior Engineering Officer’s within the team, you will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of substation design. This may include areas such as civil, building, primary electrical and secondary electrical design components For example, some of the tasks that the Senior engineering officer within the Design team performs are: Completing detailed design packages which includes: Making decisions for best fit for purpose equipment Creating SID’s Evaluation and review of design drawings Applying and updating design principles to align to new and evolving standards and improved design philosophies Mentoring and supporting change within and external to the substation design team Preparation of equipment specifications Management of contract designers About You In order to be successful in this position, you will possess: Capability to thrive in a collaborative and inclusive team environment. A willingness to learn new skills, share your knowledge and mentor team members. Extensive experience in a similar role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry Complete knowledge and application of current design philosophies, procedures, Australian standards and statutory requirements including Safety in Design. Demonstrated experience in utilising analytical skills and technical knowledge to provide appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues. About your Experience We are looking for someone with: Experience in a similar Substation Design engineering role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry Knowledge and application of current design philosophies, procedures, statutory requirements including Safe Design. Demonstrated experience to utilise analytical and technical knowledge to manage activities during planned and unplanned events providing appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues in the Energy Network Technical environment We are however, also after the right person who is the right fit for the team. About your Skills We are looking for someone with: Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage diverse and complex issues Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver technical services in a professional and timely manner Strong attention to detail and commitment to produce quality work. Strong time management skills with excellent planning and organisational skills, to be able to handle a varying complex workload Required Qualifications Associate Degree of Electrical Engineering (Power/Electrical) or Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
