Part of the Telephone Assisted Voting team, the Customer Service Officer - Voting Operator is responsible for providing customer service to blind and low vision voters for the upcoming NSW Local Government elections. About the role: Temporary contract starting 6 th of September, the estimate end date is 14 th of September Office-based position in Sydney CBD, Liverpool St Monday to Saturday, 2 shifts available (details below). You must be able to work on Saturdays . The anticipated hours are: Fri 6 th : training, 0900-1700 Sat 7 th : 2 shifts - 0845-1745 ; 0945-1845 (9 hour shifts) Mon 9 th , Tue 10 th , Wed 11 th , Fri 13 th : 2 shifts - 0815-1715 ; 0930-18:30 (9 hour shifts) Thu 12 th : 2 shifts - 07:45-1745 ; 1015-2015 (10 hour shifts) Sat 14 th : 20 operators - 1 shift 0745-1400 $35.86 per hour Super (overtime rates apply). This hourly rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. 42 openings Candidates must be enrolled on the electoral roll to be considered for this position. Candidates must be willing to obtain a National Police Check and sign a Political Neutrality Document before starting in the role. The Voting Operator will be responsible for the following, but not limited to: Working in a team to take voting calls whilst adhering to a script; Assisting electors with submitting their votes over the phone; Providing quality assurance that votes are being taken with integrity; Assisting with telephone voting processes as required; Escalating issues to TVCC supervisors. Role requirements: Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate information in a clear, accurate and respectful manner to people of diverse backgrounds Experience in a call centre environment Strong customer service skills Ability to work within established routines and guidelines Ability to problem solve and strong attention to detail Strong computer skills in the use of MS Office, including Excel, Outlook and Word Ability to manage own workload, whilst managing competing priorities Political neutrality with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/third party campaigners.
