Whether you're experienced in retail, building industry or not, if you have a sincere desire to grow in and are a quick learner, hit that apply button Job Summary The Warehouse and Sales Associate is responsible for efficiently managing warehousing operations, sales quotes, and customer service interactions to support overall branch success. This role combines accurate product handling, inventory control, and safe material management with proactive customer engagement, sales support, and timely quote processing. Through excellent service, attenti on to detail, and teamwork, the Warehouse and Sales Associate helps drive sales growth, maintain optimal stock levels, and ensure a well - organi s ed, customer - focused environment. Key Responsibilities Inventory and Warehouse Operations: Perform s material handling activities, including counting, weighing, sorting, loading, and unloading products. Operates a forklift and assists with rotating stock in the warehouse and yard as required. Handle s inbound material receiving and allocation within the store , warehouse , and yard . Ensure s the general cleanliness of the store, warehouse, and yard, including sweeping floors and tidying work areas. Accurately load s vehicles for outgoing deliveries, and ensure items are prepared, packed, and dispatched accurately. Check s stock levels and notif ies the local manager when minimum stock levels are reached. Complete s work orders and receiving documents accurately, following all relevant procedures. Report s any damage, breakage, or loss of stock to the local manager immediately. Sales and Customer Service Support: Operates “ Point of Sale ” system to accurately and completely record transactions. Provides helpful service to satisfy customers ’ enquiries, makes sales and takes orders for delivery, both in Department and by telephone. Suggests add - on sales (suggestive selling) and contributes ideas to increase store or department sales. Processes and follows up quotes on a daily basis to qualify, refines and closes sales opportunities and enters details into the quote register and Frameworks. Negotiates individual items (products, prices etc) on each quote to close sales opportunities. Product Knowledge and Training: Acquire s and maintain s up - to - date knowledge of current and new products, stock levels, and pricing. Attend s industry - related trade nights for product training as organi s ed. Engage s in self - directed learning via Trade Net or other resources to deepen product knowledge and improve service. Safety and Compliance: Adhere s to safe work practices and use personal protective equipment as required. Operate s forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely; assist s in maintaining equipment as needed. Reports any incidents relating to work, health, and safety. Maintain s security over merchandise and monies, ensuring protection from theft and damage. Undertake s self - assessment on personal safety to adhere to assigned lifting requirements. Collaboration and Additional Duties: Co - operate s with other departments and work locations to fulfill customer orders and promote branch success. Follow s all reasonable directions given by the local manager and adhere s to company policies and procedures. Perform s other related duties as required to support the department and company goals Key Requirements Ability to prioriti s e and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Team player, prepared to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Positive attitude with a commitment to self - improvement. Familiarity with building materials is a plus. Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 25 kg) as required. Minimum of one year ’ s experience in a warehouse or yard position is desirable, but not essential. Forklift experience is highly desired. Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems is an advantage.
