Remuneration Range: Grade 15 (salary range $87,578.40 to $100,738.00), dependent upon experience, plus 11.5 % Superannuation. Council Overview Strathfield Council (Council) is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036. About the Role Strathfield Council is seeking an engaged Customer Service Team Leader to join our Library & Community Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. The purpose of this role is to effectively lead the Library Customer Service team in the delivery of a positive customer experience which meets service standards. This is to be achieved through ongoing coordination, development and mentoring of staff. This position looks for continual improvement opportunities to enhance customer experience, looking to industry trends, best practice and their own knowledge. This position will lead and participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, services and resources. Selection Criteria The successful candidate will possess the following: Completion of recognised degree in Library and Information Studies (eligible for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association) or equivalent Demonstrated strong customer focus, with ability to respond promptly and courteously to a diverse community and have a good knowledge of library services, products and collections Demonstrated experience in customer service in public libraries, including circulation desk duties, administrations tasks, statistical reporting. Proven ability to analyse information to produce meaningful reports, policies and submissions for sound decision making Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills communication including cultural awareness Highly developed skills in time management, negotiation and conflict resolution Proven ability to develop and lead a cohesive and performing team, training and mentoring team members Current NSW Class C Driver Licence A current Office of the Children’s Guardian - Working with Children Check number or willingness to obtain.
