As a Wind Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting detailed site assessments, wind resource analysis, and project design, ensuring the successful delivery of wind energy projects. Your expertise will help drive the development of efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities Conduct wind resource assessments, including data analysis and interpretation, to support site selection and project feasibility. Design and optimise wind farm layouts, taking into consideration site constraints, wind flow, and environmental impacts. Collaborate with project development teams to integrate technical findings into project plans and proposals. Perform technical due diligence on potential project sites, including assessment of turbine suitability and energy yield predictions. Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including technical reports, design specifications, and performance evaluations. Support the procurement process by providing technical specifications and evaluating bids from turbine manufacturers and service providers. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and performance testing of wind turbines, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success. Monitor and analyse operational wind farms, identifying opportunities for performance improvement and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the wind energy sector. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy); a Master’s degree is highly desirable. 3-5 years of experience in wind energy project development or a related engineering field. Proven experience in wind resource assessment, wind farm design, and energy yield prediction. Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for wind analysis and project design (e.g., WindPro, WAsP). Strong knowledge of wind turbine technology, site assessment methodologies, and project lifecycle management. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and optimise project designs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
