Reporting to: Senior Project Manager The role: At Akaysha, the role of an Electrical Project Engineer is indispensable for driving technical excellence, ensuring project success, and delivering reliable and efficient energy storage solutions to meet the growing demands of the modern grid infrastructure. You'll work with both internal and external stakeholders such as suppliers, TNSP's, contractors and Government agencies. Key responsibilities will include: Design Management: working with the BoP contractor and Owners Engineers to resolve design challenges and deliver to the necessary outcome. Making sure that design is being submitted and reviewed in line with the construction program RFIs process management: Facilitating responses to RFIs (Requests for Information) between contractors, BESS equipment suppliers, TNSPs and Government Agencies Coordination with Grid Connection: collaborate with grid connection teams to support BESS GPS process Integration with Grid Infrastructure : BESS projects often involve integrating with existing electrical grid infrastructure. An Electrical Project Engineer would play a vital role in ensuring seamless integration, managing interface points, and coordinating with grid operators to meet technical requirements and regulatory standards. What you'll bring: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering At least 5 years of related work experience in utilities (TNSP, DNSP, rail) and/or renewables. Previous experience in project management, system design, and integration. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing energy storage systems, electrical infrastructure, and grid integration is beneficial. Experience in leading team(s). Software proficiency in relevant tools: CAD, Excel, CYMCAP, Understanding of Project Management Framework (cost, time and quality). PMP/Prince 2 certification, HV experience above 66kV, and Commissioning and FAT experience will be highly regarded.
