Help us provide meals to our local community by collecting surplus fresh food We're looking for drivers for our van on Wednesdays between 9-2 to pick up donations including surplus bread, fruit and veggies from local supermarkets as well as donations for our shop from local businesses. The Driver (C Class) provides efficient, safe, reliable, and courteous collection and delivery of all goods involved in operations of service. Key responsibilities: Driving: Bringing a high level of driving capability, friendly professionalism and reliability to collecting goods. Vehicle care: Drivers are key in ensuring the vehicle is safe and fully operational by regularly checking tyres, fuel levels and monitoring oil and water levels. Diligently ensure vehicle is checked before each shift and rectify any issues before collecting donations, reporting issues and repairs to manager Administration: Limited to filling in the vehicle log book and ensuring an identification badge is worn at all times, as well communications with manager regarding any concerns that may arise. Goods handling: Unload donated goods and store as required. Qualifications and skills (desired/required): Current C Class driver’s licence applicable to vehicle type Good communication skills Customer service experience highly regarded Background check requirements: Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation. Where an applicant has disclosable history, the selection process includes a fair assessment and a risk management approach. Collection of personal information is handled per our privacy and confidentiality policies. Below is what is required for this role: As this role involves dealing with confidential information and entering sites, it requires a Police Check Time Required & Commitment: As agreed with manager - ideally Wednesdays 9-2 however this is negotiable. Development opportunities with this role: This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills working as part of a large team, and build experience in delivery and logistic activity.
