Job Description Primary Purpose of the Role You will be a member of the Ui DEPs team, working on planning, design, and sustainability projects, primarily focused on mechanical engineering. Your responsibilities will include managing projects related to refurbishment for clients, providing technical information, and liaising with project managers and general staff within the university. Key Accountabilities Project Management: Oversee various mechanical engineering projects, including ventilation, process cooling, and building management. Collaboration: Work closely within a small, multi-disciplinary team while primarily operating independently. Communication: Deliver good written and verbal communications to internal personnel and external consultants. Technical Expertise: Engage in site inspections and provide technical support to project teams. Qualifications & Experience Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mechanical air conditioning design. Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferable. Skills: Strong individual work ethic, internal personnel skills, and effective communication abilities. Additional Information Team Structure: The DEPs team consists of 4 people within a larger team of 20. Consultancy Work: Some form of external consultancy and design experience, specifically in HVAC and air conditioning, is necessary. Responsibilities: No direct repair work, only inspection-based tasks. Involved with sustainability initiatives and monitoring. Further Details HVAC Mechanical Design experience, either with an engineering consultancy or services contractor that undertakes Design and Construct works. Site experience - undertaken site defect/progress inspections. Previous Hospital/Laboratory/University HVAC/Mechanical Services design experience would be preferential.
