The Senior School caters for over 850 students in Years 7-12 and has a dynamic Science Faculty that provides a comprehensive, engaging, and relevant curriculum with the following subjects: Junior Science (Years 7-10), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Marine Science (Years 10-12). Duties & Responsibilities Classroom Management Be responsible for the education, care, and discipline of the children within each allocated class. Know, plan, program, and teach the school’s curriculum at the appropriate standards for each year level. Maintain an orderly, well-presented, and inviting learning environment. Pastoral Care Be responsible for the nurture of the children within each allocated class. Pedagogy Implement the school’s Christian philosophy in the classroom and other aspects of school life in a natural, spontaneous way that will foster faith. Maintain a high standard of work in the classroom, including comprehensive evaluation and assessment of the children’s progress, and competent, frequent correction of student work, in keeping with standards set down for your year levels/classes. Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and current assessment records to support the process of reporting to parents in written form and verbally, both at designated reporting times and at occasional parent-teacher interviews. Effectively establish and carry out student assessment and reporting procedures in line with the College’s requirements (including preparation of QCAA submissions for Senior School teachers). Be willing to engage in a Professional Learning Team and participate in Peer Coaching.
