Specialist Driver Trainer & Assessor required to oversee the local training team in Mackay Hudson Jones is a national based permanent recruitment agency that specialises in recruiting talent by matching skillsets, experience and culture to maintain sustainable, long-term employment. The Role The primary focus of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of Heavy Vehicle Driving Instruction. Collaborating closely with the local training team, you will oversee the team's training activities, ensuring the effectiveness and quality of the instruction provided. Responsibilities Deliver specialised bus driving training to equip trainees for heavy vehicle license upgrades (from C class to MR/HR). Coordinate and implement a comprehensive Driver Induction Training Program, focusing on the Certificate III in Driving Operations (Bus). Champion operational excellence in training processes, programs, and delivery, working in conjunction with the training team. Manage and monitor the performance of the training team, including planning, scheduling, and fostering team engagement. Supervise the onboarding process for all new hires, including the administration of RTO paperwork and management of training records. Maintain and actively manage the Training Pipeline Calendar, ensuring seamless coordination between the recruitment and training teams, and assigning daily tasks to trainers. Oversee the Learning Management System, ensuring all user profiles and relevant documentation are current and accurately maintained. Contribute to the development and implementation of operational strategies aimed at improving overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Execute reporting and administrative tasks to support business needs. Qualifications Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. Certificate IV in Road Transport - Heavy Vehicle Driving Instruction, or willingness to obtain. Certificate III in Driving Operations or willingness to obtain. MR Drivers License Experience A minimum of 2 years' experience in training and assessing bus or heavy vehicle drivers is preferred. Familiarity with Heavy Vehicle and Passenger Transport legislation, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. Understanding of Safety Legislation, or a strong interest in learning it rapidly. Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn company systems and processes.
