Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana, Lochend and a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes. We are seeking passionate, innovative and engaging Individual Needs and English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) teachers for a full-time position. This position is based at our St Kilda Road campus and the load will include primary classes. In making these appointments, the College is seeking applicants who, among other qualities can demonstrate the following: Demonstared experience in supporting students experiencing learning difficulties, or supporting gifted and talented students Demonstrated experience teaching English as an Additional Language Demonstrated understanding of the needs of this unique program, in particular, challenges around cultural integration and isolation that residential international students may face Strong communication and organisational skills and highly developed interpersonal skills Teacher registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and appropriate EAL and Individual Needs qualifications Applications close 5:00pm on 30 August 2024.
