About the role Federation Children’s Centres at SMB, Mt Helen and Gippsland provide early childhood education and care, including kindergarten, for families of Federation University staff, students and the local community. Based at our Gippsland Centre, the Early Childhood Teacher will provide an effective educational program that supports children's learning and the developmental level of two years of kindergarten within a long day care service while meeting the requirements of the National Quality Framework including the Education and Care Services National Law and Nation Regulation and the National Quality Standard. In this role you will: plan, implement, assess and review a high quality and diverse program; and maintain and update children’s records and ensure the timely and proper completion of all appropriate forms, documents and records necessary. About you Reporting to the Centre Coordinator, you will have understanding and knowledge of early childhood theory and practice, child development and the legislative and regulatory requirements for Early Childhood Education Centres. You will also have outstanding interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will have: knowledge of the legislative and regulatory requirements for Early Childhood Education Centres as well as knowledge of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standard; ability to develop, implement and evaluate a diverse range of effective Early Childhood Education programs;. knowledge and understanding of child development and ability to convey acceptance of and sensitivity to family and children’s values; and knowledge of the operational requirements of Early Childhood Education Centres including the ability to supervise staff and/or students. Candidates may be eligible for a $21,000 Victorian Government ‘Location Incentive’, plus relocation supplements of up to $8,000. Eligible candidates may be able to access this Location Incentive, as well as a $9,000 Individual Incentive.
