Applications Engineer reporting to: Application Services Manager Overview: As an Applications Engineer at ForHealth Group, you will enhance and optimise the database and data capabilities across our Medical, Dental, and Corporate Business Units. Your technical expertise will be pivotal in managing integrations between various SaaS applications and our cloud-native Azure platforms, building and maintaining robust data architectures, delivering actionable analytics, contributing to data governance, and ensuring seamless data flow across systems. Key Responsibilities System Implementation and Configuration: Oversee the implementation, configuration, and deployment of business-critical applications. Customise and extend applications to meet the unique requirements of ForHealth’s General Practitioner (GP) and Dental practices. Application Support and Maintenance: Provide technical support and maintenance for core business applications. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. User Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training programs and materials for end-users and stakeholders. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Process Automation: Design and implement automation solutions to streamline business processes. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements within the organisation. Integration and Data Management: Ensure seamless integration between various applications and platforms. Manage data migration, data integrity, and data security across all systems. System Enhancements and Upgrades: Evaluate and implement system enhancements, updates, and upgrades. Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure optimal system performance and utilisation. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure that all applications comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational policies. Promote and implement best practices in application management and support. Project Management: Lead and manage application-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project scope and objectives. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and clinical staff, to achieve project goals. Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor system performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement. Implement changes and enhancements to optimise system functionality and user experience. Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to team members. Drive strategic initiatives and lead complex projects to advance our data management practices and infrastructure. System Availability and Performance: Ensure high system availability and optimal performance through proactive monitoring and maintenance. About You Qualifications and Experience: Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience. Experience with UI Path and automation practices. Experience and knowledge of medical applications, particularly Medical Director / Pracsoft and Best Practice, will be highly regarded. Experience with Microsoft D365, Salesforce, or ServiceNow is desirable. Demonstrated experience working with SQL is desirable. Previous experience working in an L2/L3 team environment investigating and resolving technical issues. Demonstrable, systematic, methodical problem-solving capability. Experience in escalating issues to vendors and managing them to completion. Proven experience in managing complex integrations and configurations between applications. Experience in business process and IT operational automation. Minimum 3 years’ experience with Azure data platforms and cloud-based technologies. Minimum 3 years’ experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Power Platform solutions. Experience with Databricks and MongoDB will be regarded. Working knowledge of data lakes, delta lakes, and data warehouses. Understanding and applying the ITIL framework. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of the business. Ability to work after hours. Ability to travel.
