The Role Join our team as an Application Integration Engineer, where you'll be designing, automating, and integrating the operational support systems (OSS) that underpin the network services we provide to our customers. We're looking for a problem solver with strong process generation and software engineering skills to address the full challenges of integrating our multiple network management, data analysis and information systems. You'll be instrumental in driving real business value across AARNet’s extensive international network that serves the global research and education community. We're looking for candidates with a track record of developing automated integration services across systems of record, producing integration products that deliver valuable data and efficient processes across the business. Responsibilities Integration Engineering Contribute to the requirements gathering and design of processes across multiple stakeholders, key network management and customer information systems. Design effective processes for the movement of data across systems (such ETL, analytics processing, cleansing, error handling). Manage the integration gateway and related data systems to ensure information is delivered accurately and on time. Write clean, efficient code and actively participate in code reviews to uphold high standards within the team. Deliver solutions using best practices in software development lifecycle management (Automation, Change Control, CICD, DevOps). Maintain a data catalog and specifications of all integrations, API’s and datasets. Produce data for reports across multiple sources, such as network services and customer record systems, to deliver valuable business information. Produce documentation for built solutions. Provide troubleshooting and support for built solutions. Relationship Management Actively participate in Agile team ceremonies and provide regular progress updates. Contribute to assigned integration projects from conception to finished product. Share knowledge and assist fellow team members. Develop skills across products as required to fulfill business requirements. Collaborate with a geographically dispersed team, internal and external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes. Communicate and work with vendors and other specialist teams as required. Skills, experience & qualifications Experience developing and deploying solutions on integration platforms (such as Boomi, Kong, Mulesoft, or similar) Proficient in one or more popular languages (such as Python, C, Java, Groovy, Go, Rust) A strong integration experience with enterprise record systems (such as Salesforce, CRM, ERP) Deep knowledge of APIs and patterns such as Pub/Sub. Experience orchestrating solutions with common data formats (such as YAML, JSON, XML, Flat Files) A knowledge of data flow and streaming services (such as Kafka, or similar) Experience with popular SQL databases (such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Ability to provide secure integration with Cloud Services and Identity Providers (Azure AD, SAML, or similar) An understanding of IP networks, telco environments, device configuration, OSI, SNMP, routing (highly desirable). Experience with industry network management, monitoring, and telemetry such as Cisco NSO, Netbox, Netconf, Icinga, Grafana and timeseries databases (highly desirable).
