As a Security Engineer you will play a key part in ensuring the security, integrity, and resilience of our clients' ICT systems. We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Engineer to join our talented and close-knit team in Melbourne. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the security, integrity, and resilience of our clients' ICT systems. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional customer satisfaction by providing advanced security support and ensuring that our clients' operations are protected from potential threats. This opportunity will enable you to expand on your security knowledge and grow skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. Your Day-to-Day Adventure: Provide 2nd-level security monitoring, incident response, and escalation resolution (onsite or remote) within agreed timeframes and service levels. Investigate security incidents, both internal and external, and prepare detailed post-incident reports for clients. Implement, configure, and maintain security tools and technologies to ensure the highest levels of infrastructure security. Ensure robust security through the management of firewalls, access controls, and encryption, and maintain system integrity during security upgrades. Collaborate with the team to identify root causes of security incidents and support the implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Deliver after-hours support for critical security incidents as required, with thorough documentation of issue resolution and time tracking. Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of clients' cybersecurity roadmaps, ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and resilient. Assist with security-related project tasks, working closely with Project Managers to deliver on project scope, which may account for 10-20% of the role. What's in Your Toolkit? You are a proactive self-starter with significant experience as a Security Engineer in customer-focused environments. You possess: Proven experience as a Security Engineer in a client-focused, multi-server environment, including expertise with Office 365 Security, Microsoft Azure Security Centre, and Active Directory. Advanced knowledge of security frameworks and technologies, particularly in virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), as well as experience with endpoint protection, SIEM, and IDS/IPS solutions. Solid understanding of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong customer focus, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. High-level analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail. A passion for cybersecurity and a willingness to continually learn and adapt across a range of technologies.
