The Service business segment is housed within the Electrification & Automation Business Unit and is responsible for the business development, tendering, engineering, and project delivery of a portfolio of service offerings. These include a national fleet of Field Service Technicians providing breakdown, preventative and planned maintenance tasks, spare parts sourcing and plant refurbishment and upgrade projects. The Services Business Segment operates across numerous vertical markets including data centers, renewables, utilities, mining, transport, and minerals processing. Our business mandate covers Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. With full profit and loss responsibility for the business segment, you will have the opportunity to take the business to the next level, whilst reducing business risks, and non-conformance costs. You will drive a culture leveraging all the cross-functional human potential within the Services Team to strategically pursue and successfully develop a long term scalable, profitable, and resilient business. Role Overview: Be the Business Entrepreneur for the Electrification Services business segment and become responsible for strategy, driving sales volume, market share growth, service delivery, revenue, costs, and profitability Analyse customer activity, monitor the market and competition, identify trends, market requirements and new business opportunities, and use these to develop future-oriented strategies for our target verticals Liaise and collaborate with Account Managers, portfolio experts, tendering, engineering, finance and project delivery teams to ensure pull through of our services offerings on new equipment installs Cultivate strong relationships with customers and key suppliers by being responsive, trustworthy, and reliable Oversee the successful delivery of services according to best practices Head up the overall Electrification Services business segment and leads all related management and staff Develop the capabilities and capacity of the services team to match the needs of the offerings, vertical markets and customer profiles we work with. Your Profile: Electrical trade qualification or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or business administration 15 years’ experience in field service operations, preferably in the electrification and power distribution domains Have a solid understanding of business and financial management and sound commercial acumen Strong experience in dealing with regional and international customers and understand their investment and buying behaviour A skill of developing opportunities with strong customer orientation, cooperative negotiation skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a confident demeanour Demonstrated experience building high performing and empowered teams that are match fit for responsive service operations Sound experience in service projects and can engage with the customer and team to navigate the inevitable challenges that arise Demonstrated experience in internal executive stakeholder management in preparing, presenting and negotiating business cases and approvals with project sponsors (local and international executive management) Product and system knowledge of medium & low-voltage switchgear, energy system protection and automation, and inverter systems is highly valued Must be open to domestic and international travel for at least 30% of your time and have intercultural experience and sensitivity. The role will be based in either our Sydney office at North Ryde or Melbourne office at Bayswater. Alternative locations will be considered for exceptional candidates.
