The Opportunity Austal are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Design team in Henderson, WA. The successful candidate will be a qualified Mechanical Engineer with excellent communication skills and a high level of commitment to assist with the design of our projects. What’s involved Design of vessel Auxiliary, Domestic and Propulsion Systems Preparation of design and drawings including calculations and schematics. Selection and requisitions for Machinery, propulsion, power, process plants, systems, pumps etc. Design in accordance with technical requirements (Specification, contract, and relevant rules). Design in accordance with Austal processes for safety, quality, budget, and risk mitigation. Provide Design support through production, commissioning, and delivery. You’ll need Essential Australian Citizen Hold a Construction safety induction (white card) Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent Proven experience in the design of vessel systems Desirable 5 years’ experience in ship design and construction Experience in the design of High-speed light-craft Why Austal Competitive compensation and benefits package.
