We require theservices of a civil engineer to work in-house at the TMR Buderim office with the civil design unit aspart team delivering civil designs and expert technical advice for civil engineering. Roles and Responsibilities The Principal Engineer (Civil Design) will report the Principal Advisor (Design). They will be capable of working independently and providing direction to our civil designers. Role requirements: Strong leadership and project management abilities to effectively oversee design processes, certify schemes and manage project operations, and provide guidance to ensure project success. Sound judgement and the ability to make informed decisions that align with project objectives and regulatory requirements, and role models courage in making decisions under pressure or in the absence of complete information. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders and foster collaboration for project success. Ability to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and devise effective strategies to achieve project objectives while adhering where possible to relevant standards and guidelines. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to effectively interact closely with designers, fellow engineer and other disciplines involved in delivering the projects. Possession of well-developed report writing skills. Ability to adhere to quality management procedures. Sound report writing and review skills are anticipated. Responsibilities: Ensure designs are suitable, appropriate and adequate for the purpose stated in the project requirements and that they are in accordance with relevant design standards. Certify schemes as a registered professional engineer as required. Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved. Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model. Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects. Supervise and coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives. Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner. Escalate issues when required. Requirements Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing technical advice and guidance on design and construction of road infrastructure projects. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in ensuring civil designs are suitable, appropriate and adequate for the purpose and are in accordance with relevant design standards. Including certification of civil designs. Demonstrated ability to maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects. Demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities. Experience in ability to perform, review and certify pavement designs. Price (hourly rate including all expenses)
