About the Team The Population Health Research Network (PHRN) is a globally recognised research infrastructure program at the University of Western Australia, supported by the Australian Government and tertiary institutions. The network enables the integration of health data from across the nation, driving vital health-related research that informs policy and healthcare practices. As part of the PHRN, your work will significantly contribute to the development and operation of this innovative national resource. About the Opportunity In this influential position, you will be at the forefront of PHRN’s governance initiatives, addressing complex legal, ethical, and policy challenges related to data linkage in health research. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting in-depth legal research, producing high-impact reports and submissions, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders to promote the work of the PHRN on a national and international scale. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and provide insights on legal, ethical, and policy issues surrounding the collection, linkage, and use of human data in research. Develop comprehensive papers, submissions, and reports on current legal, ethical, and policy matters affecting linked data research. Stay ahead of emerging legal, ethical, and policy trends in both Australian and international contexts that could impact PHRN’s work. Build and maintain strong partnerships with PHRN collaborators, including government agencies, universities, and private sector entities. Undertake other tasks as directed to support the success of PHRN’s initiatives.
