Ovolo Woolloomooloo is the brand's flagship Australian hotel, located in Sydney's idyllic harbourside suburb of (dramatic drum roll) Woolloomooloo. Nestled in the heart of the popular wharf precinct, a short walk to the city's central business district, the hotel is surrounded by a wide selection of much-loved dining and nightlife options. Ovolo Woolloomooloo features 100 guest rooms, a state-of-the-art gym, meeting rooms and events spaces, a swimming pool, and Woolloomooloo Bar. The Gig As our Bartender (Beverage Artist) you will be charged with providing our guests with the best night they’ve ever had. You will take control of the bar operations with the assistance of your colleagues and management team. You will make beverage recommendations based on the needs and preferences of customers which will play a crucial factor for improving the guest drinking experience. This is a Casual gig and will require flexibility in your availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to: Describes all bar items; methods of preparation and prices as needed Proper shaking, mixing, and stirring techniques using required Shakers Bar Spoon, Beakers, Jiggers, Hawthorne/Juniper Strainers Extensive knowledge of the surrounding area, events, and directions to guide and enhance a guests local experience Keep the bar clean and well-organized, as well as ensure it is always fully stocked Works with guests to accommodate special requests and special dietary needs Utilize suggestive selling on established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner Performs pre and post-shift side work; set-up, breakdown, condiments, etc Follows all standard food handling, TIPS, sanitation and health department guidelines About you At Ovolo, we are all about YOU.
