Description Netball Australia are excited to start the search for a skilled team member to undertake the position of Legal Counsel (Commercial), on a Fixed Term basis, through to December 2025 . Reporting to the General Manager - Legal & Integrity, key responsibilities of the position incumbent include: Advising on a range of legal matters and support to all stakeholders, including those relating to sponsorship and media rights, Suncorp Super Netball, venues, marketing strategies, legislative obligations, compliance and risk management, employment law, ad hoc legal matters, litigation and integrity issues; Drafting, reviewing and advising on commercial agreements (including with government funding bodies, service providers, member organisations, international netball bodies, partners and sponsors), team participation agreements and collective player agreements; Drafting, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures to mitigate legal and business risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (including sport integrity, child safety, national redress scheme, work health and safety, procurement, employment, privacy, and consumer law requirements); Contributing to and delivering legal education and induction initiatives; Overseeing Netball Australia’s trademarks portfolio; Managing and develop Netball Australia’s transition to digital legal portal (including developing and adapting legal precedents and templates, adapting procurement and contract processes to meet business needs, providing training to business users, and empowering them to self-serve where appropriate); Supporting the General Manager – Integrity & Legal on integrity matters as they arise, and development and maintenance of the Netball Integrity Policy Framework and related policies and procedures; and Other: Ensure that Netball Australia adheres to best practice governance policy and procedures and education programs to support Skills And Experiences At Netball Australia, we value our people, and our people are the fabric of our organisation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare external correspondence and reports, and to positively engage with key stakeholders, members of the public and other employees. Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification in law and current practising certificate in Victoria or eligibility and willingness to obtain this practicing certificate. Minimum 3 years PQE.
