Role Detail We are looking for a Legal Project Manager to join our Legal Project Management team in Sydney on a 12–18-month contract. King & Wood Mallesons provides specialised legal project management expertise and support through its Legal Project Management (LPM) group. The group provides dedicated LPM support on large, complex and extra demand (XDM) matters. LPM also develops and champions the firm wide approach to client matters using its KWM “Managing Matters Effectively” (MME) program. Reporting to the Head of Legal Project Management (LPM) and supported by a wider team of Legal Project Managers, Consultants and Coordinators, you will provide proactive support on legal matters by assisting legal teams in defining project scope, goals, deliverables and fees that support business needs of both the firm and our clients. How? Based in our Sydney office, with a balanced approach to WFH, you will work to provide proactive and solution focused legal project management expertise , including advice and support. Your key responsibilities will include: Develop full-scale project plans utilising our LPM tools, precedents and systems, to underpin the execution of the plans Provide advice on the resources, technology and participants needed to achieve project goals and provide input in the budget-creation process Step into matters already in motion and diagnose ways to get matters on track and aligned with client goals Consult on the use of alternative staffing approaches and automation where needed Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work Identify and establish a communication channel with our clients and other key stakeholders including frequency, method, format, and ensuring this takes place in a clear and timely manner Track and manage fees and expenses against estimate/budget and assist with billing review and financial reporting Act as a brand ambassador for the LPM group through proactively seeking ways to improve, add value, support and endorse LPM initiatives About You Your passion for the value a robust LPM function can add, and willingness to pitch in when and where needed, will set you up for success. Along with your LPM experience, you will bring a collaborative positive approach and enjoy working alongside a highly regarded and experienced LPM team who will nurture your career. Your organisational skills, ability to multi-task and exceptional time management skills, sets you apart.
