Reporting into the General Manager, Digital & Technology, the Head of Engineering will be the cornerstone of this initiative, tasked with spearheading the formation and leadership of their new engineering team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of BIG4's digital landscape, offering a unique opportunity to influence the company's trajectory and leave a lasting impact on the holiday park industry. Description Reporting into the General Manager, Digital & Technology, the Head of Engineering will be responsible for: Establishing and leading BIG4's internal engineering team Collaborating with the Senior Product Manager and other stakeholders to prioritise and execute product roadmaps Driving the development of new products and features that align with the BIG4 Product Vision, addressing customer needs and enhancing park experiences Ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that solidify BIG4's competitive advantage and contribute to our overarching success Overseeing the maintenance, enhancement, and modernisation of BIG4's .NET systems and supporting infrastructure to meet business goals and technical standards Profile As the successful applicant, you will ideally posses: A minimum of 10 years in software engineering, with a track record of leading or supervising dynamic teams Proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core, with a deep understanding of software architecture and design principles Skilled in the use of relevant software engineering tools, with a comprehensive grasp of engineering standards and techniques Demonstrable knowledge in front-end development, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity measures Proven experience in managing and modernising .NET systems, ensuring they meet current and future business requirements Strong background in Agile and DevOps methodologies, with the ability to adapt and implement these practices effectively. Excellent leadership qualities, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and guide Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams towards achieving collective goals Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approach Adept at identifying challenges and crafting solutions that drive progress and innovation Experience in managing complex technical projects and leading engineering teams with a positive and morale-boosting attitude Experience in working with external vendors and fostering productive vendor relationships Job Offer Newly created role.
