Duties • Work effectively as a member of the Skills and Workforce leadership team and provide leadership to the Apprenticeship and Traineeships Team, actively promoting a collaborative, supportive, high-performing work environment that demonstrates respect and interest in diversity and wellbeing of individuals. • Build and nurture productive and collaborative relationships with other stakeholders in the apprenticeship and traineeship system, including maintaining relationships with the Australian Government, other States and Territories, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), Apprentice Connect Providers, and the Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) Australian School Based Apprenticeship unit. • Provide high level input and advice to the General Manager and Directors and collaborate across Skills and Workforce regarding apprenticeship and traineeship issues. • Manage and oversee the effective delivery of a consultancy service delivered by a team to: - develop and implement education and compliance programs, - provide high level information to learners, employers, Apprentice Connect Providers, RTOs and other stakeholders regarding the VET system. - Investigate and resolve issues that may impact the successful completion of an apprenticeship or traineeship. - Oversee the administration of training contracts as required by legislation, including registration, processing amendments and other processes including suspension, transfer, cancellation, and completion of contracts. Oversee assessment and approval of amendments to training contracts • Oversee of the assessment and administration of travel and accommodation allowances for apprentices and trainees. • Represent Skills Tasmania in interjurisdictional activities related to apprenticeships and traineeships.
