Managing a team of experienced lawyers in a highly commercial environment this role offers interesting work, a great team culture, very reasonable hours and executive interaction. About the role: Working closely with the executive, you will lead the legal and compliance function who have existing skills across commercial, contracts, litigation, risk and compliance while also bringing your skills in employment law to the team. Day to day you will: provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to the lawyers in the team on their matters and as a point of escalation; support the executive, the Board and the Minister on strategic legal requirements; provide advice relating to various HR/IR matters including workplace investigations, performance management, unfair dismissals etc; advise on legislative compliance as well as developing legal issues. Skills/Experience: To be considered for this role you will have: 7 years' PAE with demonstrated experience in employment law (public sector HR/IR experience will be highly regarded); demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring lawyers; and a commercial approach and good communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
