About the Role The University of Melbourne's Communications and Marketing team drives brand engagement through a dynamic retail operation, spanning on-campus and pop-up outlets. Our retail outlets, offering branded apparel and merchandise, are pivotal in fostering a strong sense of community and enhancing the overall student experience. The Retail Coordinator is instrumental in managing daily operations, developing staff, and driving sales to ensure our retail business thrives. This role is primarily based on campus, with hours determined by business requirements. There may be occasions where you will need to work outside of standard hours, such as during events like Graduations and Open Day. Your responsibilities will include: Lead and develop casual staff, delivering exceptional customer service and achieving sales targets. Manage daily retail operations, including sales transactions, stock control, and visual merchandising. Ensure efficient store management, maintain high standards, and contribute to product development. Who we are looking for We are seeking a dynamic Retail Coordinator with a proven track record of delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team while efficiently managing daily operations. A passion for building relationships and a dedication to providing exceptional service are essential. Ideally, you'll have experience in a high-turnover retail store and be capable of working effectively under pressure. You will also have: Extensive experience and specialist knowledge in retail and stock management, achievement of sales targets and visual merchandising expertise. Strong focus and demonstrated track record in delivering exceptional client service, especially within a high-volume turnover store.
