Description Café Supervisor Reference number: 10362 Closing date: 11:00pm, 21 August 2024 Full-Time Permanent Salary commencing at $40.47 per hour 11.5% superannuation Seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to manage the day-to-day operations of the Crown Street Stables Community Café. Design initiatives that assist to activate and connect vulnerable community members to food and social supports. Responsibilities The position will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to: Operate Crown Street Stables Community Café in accordance with compliance requirements under the Food Safety Standards Recruit, supervise and manage the performance of Café Attendants, Casual staff, and Volunteers in accordance with Council policies and procedures. Ensure Café operations are delivered in line with operational procedures, processes and safe work procedures and coordinate training for staff, trainees, and volunteers to ensure the safe operation of equipment. Oversee and undertake financial management and procurement processes in line with Council procedure. Maintain accountability for the ordering, delivery and storage of stock, documentation of wastage and expenditure control. Coordinate rostering and resourcing of staff in line with Café requirements and operational budget. Support the day-to-day operations of the Café, including the preparation of food and beverages, serving of customers, preparation and safe storage of food and cleaning requirements. Design and drive initiatives that assist to activate Crown Street Stables Community Café, and Council’s other food services, and contribute to service improvements and growth, and connect vulnerable community members to food and social supports. Work collaboratively with Council’s other food service, including Clocktower Café, Flemington Djerring Hub kitchens, and Ascot Vale Neighbourhood Centre (Community Meals), Queens Park Café to assess synergies between the services and to facilitate future efficiencies and service improvements. Key Selection Criteria Qualification in a relevant discipline such as Hospitality or Community Services. Food Safety Supervisor qualification (HLTFS310B) or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in supervising staff, students, and volunteers in a Café environment. Experience working with vulnerable community members including an understanding of the issues they face and a commitment to promoting and providing inclusive service delivery. Demonstrated ability to provide an excellent level of customer service within a hospitality setting. Flexibility within the standard operating hours of the Cafe to ensure oversight of all operations.
