My client is a growing locally owned MSP and software development company based in the city and at Tonsley. About my client They have strong relationships with their clients and have a lot of household brand name clients in the food and wine, manufacturing, and other niche markets that the DXCs etc of this world don’t bother with. They are currently enjoying a record number of tickets, not due to things going wrong, just due to the number of customers they have brought on. There are two offices one at Tonsley with free onsite parking, and one in the city. The team gets on well, goes to the pub for lunch regularly and enjoys what they do. They enjoy paid overtime if they must work out of hours and of course on weekends. They have a lot of people who have been there a long time, there hasn’t been much turnover. They also have developers who make bespoke apps for clients. We are looking to hire a meticulous and experienced Windows Engineer to help run our entire Windows infrastructure, from managing Active Directory and DNS, to acting as an escalation point for more complex issues in the Windows Desktop environment. Windows is our customers’ primary desktop operating system, and many of their core infrastructure services are provided by Windows servers. Having these systems work correctly is key for the continuity of our business. As part of our Windows team, you’ll work to improve, automate, and standardize our Windows environment. Much of this work will involve creating and maintaining PowerShell scripts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be needed as you collaborate with colleagues across the firm to find and resolve issues, plan and execute deployments, and improve systems where possible. Getting the details right and keeping good records are critical in this role. While troubleshooting various technical issues, you’ll be expected to document problem resolution using our online knowledge base clearly. This position sits within our IT Engineering group, a highly dedicated team of engineers who monitor and manage a Windows environment across a physical/virtual computing landscape that spans three continents. Your analytical thinking and expertise will be invaluable as we support the daily work of our colleagues and keep our systems operating at the highest standard. About You 5 years of experience with the inner workings of Microsoft Windows 10 and Server 2012 R2/2016/2019 Advanced working knowledge of Active Directory/DHCP/DNS/Group Policy Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot servers, workstation operating systems, applications, peripherals, network Experience with hardware monitoring and performance tuning and automation Clear and concise communication skills, able to maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries A flexible and reliable team player, enjoys working in a collaborative environment You MUST have Microsoft certs to suit this role And you MUST have either English as a first language or have a PTE of over 75 or an IELST of over 8 Culture and Values They embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
