Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana and Lochend, and a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes. We are seeking passionate, innovative and engaging English as an Additional Language (EAL) Primary years teacher for a part-time, 0.9 FTE 12 month temporary position (possibility of ongoing). This position is based at the Glen Waverley Campus. Start date negotiable dependent on successful candidate commitments. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about teaching and have the ability to provide an engaging program to the students using contemporary teaching methods. Demonstrated high level classroom teaching skills and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning is essential. Knowledge of the Science of Reading and the ability to speak Mandarin would be advantageous. Experience working with EAL children across the primary years (Prep – Year 6) will be highly regardered. Applicant will be registered with VIT and hold a TESOL qualification, and demostrate an expert understanding of relevant curriculum, assessment and reporting experience.
