TP Human Capital is partnering with a government client in Townsville to find a Waste Collection Driver (HR License). This role is physically demanding and requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service. You will be responsible for the efficient collection of residential and rural waste bins, while adhering to safety protocols and ensuring a positive experience for residents. Key Responsibilities Operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring all bins within the designated area are serviced according to policies. Perform daily pre-start, operational, and shutdown checks on assigned vehicles. Collect bins, including handling spillages and performing minor repairs when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cleaning allocated vehicles and washdown facilities. Report any faults, breakdowns, or safety incidents to the supervisor promptly. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by following all Workplace Health and Safety procedures and regulations. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with residents. Key Requirements Current Queensland HR class driver's license. Proven experience in waste collection with the ability to operate and maintain waste collection vehicles. Strong understanding of safe working practices and a commitment to safety leadership. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with residents. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience meeting bin lift rate targets in a residential and rural setting. Knowledge of relevant waste collection legislation and environmental regulations. Basic understanding of the local waste collection system. Available to work on public holidays, weekends, and overtime (penalty rates apply). Must be certified medically fit to drive a commercial heavy vehicle.
