Your opportunity Queensland Rail is seeking a talented Systems Administrator to join our growing team on a full-time temporary basis until 13/07/2025 at our Bowen Hills location. The SEQ Roster Centre is undergoing a modernisation of our internal technology and systems to prepare us for delivery of major capital projects such as Cross River Rail and the business growth associated with these. As a Systems Administrator in the SEQ Roster Centre, you’ll be the link between technology and our SEQ Operations. You’ll be involved in not just day-to-day systems and incident management, but also working on a wide variety of projects to identify and deliver systems and process improvements. This is not your average Systems Administrator Role Overview of responsibilities Day-to-day Management of our rostering systems and internally developed tools. Incident Management, supporting both technical and operational incidents. Identifying system and process improvements to maximise productivity and utilisation of our rostering systems. Programming and small-scale software and script development (predominantly Python) to support system improvements. Ad-Hoc data analysis work to support business decision making. General IT support and management within the SEQ Roster Centre Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following qualities: Programming Experience (preferably Python) as well as SQL High level knowledge and experience of Excel. Experience in providing data analysis and communicating this to a non-technical audience. Ability to be a change maker and bring key stakeholders along with you on the journey. A qualification in IT, Data Science or Operations Research would be highly regarded. Proactive problem-solving skills. Resilience in a dynamic operational environment and the ability to work autonomously. Effective interpersonal skills – key for this role as the team has a collaborative approach to working and stakeholder engagement is a frequent occurrence. Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills. Experience with FAID (Fatigue Assessment Tool) and Tableau is beneficial although not required. This is a Monday-Friday non-shift working position although a small amount of on-call may be required during incidents or key project milestones.
