The Role Alkimos PS is seeking innovative, enthusiastic teaching professionals with knowledge, skills and experience teaching across a broad range of year levels with a strong commitment to professional development and continuous improvement to facilitate a best practice approach towards teaching and learning. Explicit teaching, guided by student data, and delivered using the Gradual Release of Responsibility model is important. It is also highly desirable for applicants to possess knowledge of our school-wide programmes, including Talk for Writing, Heggerty and synthetic phonics (K-3). The ability to integrate ICT across the curriculum to enhance student learning will be looked on favourably. A commitment to implementing whole-school curriculum policies and programs will be evident, demonstrating all teachers' capacity to be attuned to the individual needs of students, and their authentic skill to provide an inclusive, fair, and safe classroom. To support this, programs such as the Berry Street Education Model, Respectful Relationships and Friendly Schools complement our approach to student health and wellbeing.
