About the role We're seeking a dynamic Category Manager to spearhead our procurement activities for Retail and Corporate Business Units, managing an annual spend exceeding $400 million. As part of our Procurement Team, you'll be at the forefront of The Retail Transformation Program, and be responsible for establishing category strategies, sourcing and development of commercial agreements, negotiation, and ongoing category management. This a parental leave cover position for 12-months - Full-Time or Part-Time (4 days a week), based in Melbourne or Sydney. What you'll be doing Reporting to the Procurement Manager - Corporate & Retail, you will: Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with retail business stakeholders to craft and execute sourcing strategies that deliver best value and align with AGL policies. Source to Contract Strategy: Champion retail category plans, lead key negotiations, and manage commercial and contractual risks. Utilise procurement tools like Ariba for effective sourcing. Strategic Supplier & Contract Management: Drive supplier relationship management programs to enhance contract performance and ensure commercial sustainability. About you What you'll bring to the table Proven experience in procurement or equivalent commercial roles, ideally in a large corporate. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders. Ability to translate business needs into procurement requirements. Proven ability to negotiate and influence effectively in a complex environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering sourcing strategies.
