Brilliant benefits and a flexible hybrid work environment About the Role Provide expert legal guidance and advice to support the management and development of the buildings and physical assets in the University's property portfolio across 7 campuses. Provide expert advice on complex construction projects and development. Partner with key stakeholders for agile decision-making and propel strategic growth. Your responsibilities will include: Proactively managing risks and delivering high-quality legal advice. Representing the team, providing expert guidance on construction, property, and legal matters to support University operations. Manage complex legal issues and collaborate with senior colleagues. Managing routine and complex legal tasks independently, seeking guidance on the most intricate matters. Draft agreements, stay updated on legal changes, and advise on strategic initiatives. Who we are looking for We are searching for a passionate and strategic legal professional with a proven track record in construction law and client service. Experience in higher education is a plus, but strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, building relationships and delivering exceptional legal solutions. You will also have: A minimum of five years postgraduate qualifications in relevant discipline (Law) (LLB) as well as significant relevant legal experience. Current Victorian practising certificate or equivalent Proven track record in construction law, advising on contracts, disputes, property maintenance, and risk management (insurance, security of payment, etc.). Extensive experience managing multiple complex legal matters and delivering client-focused solutions in a large organisation. This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
