Legal Counsel 3-5 years' PAE Our client is a Fortune Global 500 company with a presence in over 60 countries and has enjoyed significant success by acquisition and organic growth. The Legal and Compliance Team is now seeking another lawyer to join the Legal team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will have between 3-5 years’ PAE in Corporate /Commercial law gained from a well-regarded law firm or similar in-house environment. This position will be a key contact for one of the business units, with plenty of scope and opportunities to engage and partner with senior stakeholders. The position reports to an experienced Senior Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be a member of the Legal and Compliance Team responsible for ensuring the provision of day-to day legal support for the Australian and New Zealand business operations with the support of the Senior Legal Counsel and Head of Legal and Compliance. Key remit: Commercial contracting support, including: reviewing contracts issued under Requests for Tender and raising contract amendments; reviewing and advising on customer amendments to the Group’s standard supply contracts; drafting bespoke contractual clauses to address specific business requirements; reviewing various legal documents including NDAs and collaboration agreements; and providing strategic commercial advice. Advising on ad hoc privacy matters, intellectual property, employment and dispute resolution. Assisting with implementing regulatory changes. Ensuring that a consistent legal governance and risk framework is applied across all entities and that all Group policies are complied with. Ensuring appropriate escalation of issues and matters requiring approval. Supporting management in designing and implementing controls and procedures to mitigate identified compliance risks. Supporting the Data Privacy Officer to ensure compliance with data privacy laws in Australia and New Zealand. Assisting with the development of templates, policies and guidance.
