An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Designer for Childrenswear to join a dynamic team at Seed Heritage. Reporting to the Design & Buying Manager, this role is responsible for designing, developing, and ranging the Australian and International Boyswear ranges in line with company objectives. THE ROLE: Research and identify key trends, items, colors, and styles for Boys and Baby Boys ranges. Prepare mood boards, color palettes, and graphic concepts for approval. Collaborate with Creative Director and Design/Buying Manager to plan apparel collections. Conduct post-seasonal reviews and identify growth opportunities. Maximise in-season sales by monitoring bestsellers. Maintain awareness of competitors and market trends through SWOT analyses. Approve lab dips, strike offs, prints, and fabrics promptly. Work with planner and buying manager to achieve sales targets. Assist in negotiating costs with factories, suppliers, and agents. Coordinate campaign and PR sample requirements. Present monthly ranges to Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and Management. Undertake overseas buying and sourcing trips as required. On-site in St Kilda Rd offices 5 days per week. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: A tertiary qualification or equivalent in Design/Product Development or related field. Proven experience in childrenswear design and product development. Strong analytical and numerical skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
