About the Opportunity: Our client is seeking a highly organised Senior Process Engineer to join their engineering team, supporting capital projects and the day-to-day functions of their food manufacturing plant. This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday. About the Role: Reporting to the Process Manager, your responsibilities will include: Establishing and maintaining heat and mass balance, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and control system functional descriptions. Troubleshooting production issues and reporting findings. Developing isolation procedures using lock-out tag-out methodology. Identifying process improvements using lean and 5S strategies. Supporting capital projects from conceptualisation to compliance and commissioning. Modelling production expansion/modification and identifying bottlenecks. Maintaining the process safety risk register. Developing Standard Operating Procedures for process hazards. Assisting maintenance with equipment failure causes. Preparing and reviewing management of change documentation. Supervising junior process engineers. Liaising with technology providers and industry associations. Participating in HAZOP and other risk workshops. Qualifications required: Tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering or a relevant discipline. Experience & Skills required: You will need the following skills and experience to be successful in this role: A safety-first attitude. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work autonomously and manage conflicting priorities. Adaptability to change and new requirements. Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Capability to perform process calculations for troubleshooting. Knowledge of engineering workflow processes and industry-related software, codes, and standards. Experience in developing and implementing process control strategies. Experience in process safety and risk management. Experience supervising and mentoring junior process engineers. Experience in Lean manufacturing methods. Prior experience in manufacturing, preferably involving solids handling, drying, and processing flammable liquids.
