$description RESPONSIBILITIES About the Role Reporting to the Functional Manager based in Perth, you will join a team based across Perth and Brisbane. Due to successful award in our Brisbane office of a long-term engineering services contract, this role will see you join our team supporting in a portfolio arrangement of varied engineering packages as we support sustaining capital work programs for Newmont/Lihrs PNG facility. Our team in Brisbane have successfully been awarded several engineering scopes, ranging from ESC for an international minor capital works program to detailed engineering and EPCM scopes of greenfield developments in the critical minerals and metals space locally and internationally. You will be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to: - - The overall production and review of mechanical engineering deliverables such as specification, calculations, technical evaluations, reports and drawings - Providing input into layout development - Resolving technical issues, in a clear and concise manner - Ensuring the correct and relevant information is disseminated to mechanical team (engineers and designers) and other disciplines, in a clear and concise manner - Equipment package management, including the review and approval of vendor data - Providing technical support across the business including to on-site construction, estimating, procurement and project departments - Overseeing project requirements and assisting junior and lesser experienced engineers - Liaising with client At Wood you will join an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and recognized industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities. QUALIFICATIONS About You This opportunity is looking for those who have built a career within the resources sector, ideally within mineral processing and gold mining, with knowledge of consultancy work supporting sustaining capital work programs and brownfield modifications. You will also have: - - Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution - - Member of Engineers Australia, or willing to work toward membership - - Design experience in wet and/or dry mineral processing plants, preferable - - Site experience either in construction, commissioning or operations, desirable but not essential - - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - - Ability to problem-solve effectively and identify technical and safety based risks - - Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs - Ability to work to a time frame and deliver on budget - - Understanding of Australian and common International standards including regulatory authority requirements within the mining industry, preferable - - A commitment to HSE - - Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Please note, only applicants holding valid working rights in Australia will be considered.
