ROLE Drive innovation beyond Earth as a Principal CDH Engineer Space Machines Company is looking for a high performing CDH Engineer to join our expanding team. As the Principal CDH Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of the satellite nervous system. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate and reliable command routing and data transmission throughout the spacecraft. You will design, implement, configure and test compute modules, internal networks, instrument, actuator and payload interfaces as well as ensure accurate timekeeping across the spacecraft systems, ensuring high reliability and performance in the challenging environment of space. Some interstate and international travel may be required for the role. PROFILE We are looking for a self-directed engineer that can: Design and develop CDH systems for operation in a space environment Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate CDH designs into overall satellite systems. Perform simulation, verification, and validation of CDH systems to ensure compliance with system requirements and performance objectives. Participate in design reviews, testing, and troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle. Contribute to the improvement of design methodologies, tools, and processes for CDH development. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in embedded technology and space systems engineering. QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE You will be a good fit for this role if you have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Strong experience with microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs and GPUs and their applicability to different processing scenarios Proficiency with communications buses including ethernet, CAN, serial, SPI, IIC and LVDS Familiarity with time coordination in an embedded environment Understanding of radiation effects and mitigation a plus Ability to stretch from requirements analysis, trade studies, component selection and design to fabrication, programming and debugging Knowledge of space systems engineering principles and constraints is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
