The Senior Test Systems Engineer delivers specialised engineering support and enables teams to deliver products and services to customers at speed and scale. This is an integral role that is responsible for the design of test systems and associated infrastructure to ensure the quality and reliability of our products and systems. In addition, the role will involve the reporting of progress on test system deliverables to the wider project stakeholders. Accountabilities Developing electrical test systems based on stakeholder needs for both in-house and contract manufacturer use. Reporting progress to the project stakeholders and managing stakeholder expectations. Resolving test system issues by collaborating with the wider design teams as needed. Developing effective and efficient test software methods through clear understanding of product electrical schematics, layouts, firmware application and mechanical drawings Performing electronic design of test system hardware (platforms, custom fixtures) Coordinating test development activities from design, verification, and implementation of test systems to transfer to production. Developing next generation prototype test systems machines utilising existing test design methodology while leveraging state of the art industry design practices Understanding V&V requirements and protocols for delivering Test Systems to manufacturing Translating Product Test Requirements into Test System Requirements in collaboration with R&D Electrical and/or Firmware engineers Key Incumbent Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent Proven experience in Test System development, including test software, test hardware, PCB layout, and electromechanical design Experience with test hardware (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, Multi-meters) Understanding of analogue and digital hardware design Proficient reviewer with an eye for detail Adept in verification of production test systems for electronic products Experience in a highly regulated industry e.g. Medical, Defence, Aerospace (Ideal) Experience of electronic manufacturing processes and possible resulting defects (Ideal) Cochlear's mission is to help people hear and be heard.
