See yourself in our team The Payments Service Utility (PSU) brings together the processes, people, and technology assets that support cheques, bulk electronic payments, merchant acquiring (including EFTPOS Terminal technology and eCommerce technology), high-value and international payments processing for CBA. The team have the monumental task of ensuring that 40% of the Australian economy are able to transact over $90 billion a day using the Bank's services in a reliable manner. With the payments technology systems being at the heart of the bank, almost every customer-facing channel relies on payments services in one way or another. As the Senior Engineer - eCommerce Integrations you will report to the Chapter Lead - eCommerce Integrations and be responsible for turning new merchants into successful, revenue-generating customers. You will lead each new merchant launch, including coordinating testing and certification, project managing the merchant team through their customisation and integration, and providing best-practice implementation expertise. You will become an expert on our orchestration product functionality, integrations between merchant, websites/mobile apps and customer payment methods, underlying web-stack technologies, and digital payment best practices. We're interested in hearing from people who: Are proficient in consulting on 3rd party integration solutions and products with a strong background in integration, engineering, and eCommerce plug-ins. Have experience leading and consulting on technical products and features to non-technical audience as well as work with client developers in a highly technical manner. Assist with complex technical pre-sales, requirements discovery, troubleshooting, customisation and technical project management. Ideally have previously worked in fintech or payment industry. Can assist key merchants with their onboarding requirements, while scaling our operations by creating and driving self-service technical documentation and developer resources. Have a natural drive to educate, communicate, and positively influence a large stakeholder group. Passionate about coaching junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to uplift and improve development practices. Tech skills: We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team: Background in software engineering especially eCommerce/web development with proficiency in at least one programming language (ideally PHP or JS) is essential. Solid understanding of end-to-end solution designing and programming in SOAP and/or Restful API. Experienced working with eCommerce plugins such as Magento, WooCommerce and mobile SDKs at a development and implementation level. Knowledge in Web development framework such as React will be highly regarded. Payment Industry knowledge of acquiring and card not present solutions. Detailed knowledge of customer transactional solutions, 3DSecure, hosted solutions, payment gateway processing and tokenisation. Technical expertise and troubleshooting skills that could include explaining different types of user authentication, debugging a failing API call, or advising on a custom integration. Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems and how they integrate to payment solution. Understanding of transactional banking and how this impacts customer's payments operations (receivables, reconciliation, and automation).
