The Ward Administrative Assistant reports to the Nurse Unit Manager and Administration Manager, for the provision of administrative, clerical and reception services. This position is required to work in close proximity to patients and should have a working knowledge of hospital operations & activities. About the Role: Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager and the Administration Manager, the ward Administration Assistant will provide administrative, clerical and reception services. Some of your responsibilities may include: Working in close proximity to patients so should be able to develop a sound knowledge of hospital operations and activities. Ensuring that requests of the patient's family re visitors are adhered to. Maintaining records/statistics pertinent to each area and identifying systems that require improvement. Conveying patient transfer, admission and discharge information to the Central Patient and Bed Manager in a timely manner. About you: High level of interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills. Previous experience as a Ward Administrative Assistant/Administrative Assistant. Experience working in a clinical environment and ability to work with distressed patients/carers with empathy. Ability to plan, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
