Using remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) technology to extract key critical minerals. The technology we have developed enables access to ore bodies previously thought to be uneconomic - in future, we hope it brings potential to unlock other deep deposits of critical minerals, including those nearby to the Balranald project. About the Location Iluka's Balranald operation is located approximately two hours by road from Mildura in regional NSW. You can choose to live in the local region, drive-in drive-out from towns outside the regional area or fly-in, fly-out from Melbourne or Adelaide. About the Role Reporting to the Asset Manager the Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing specialist technical electrical engineering support to the Balranald operation. Your accountabilities will include: Provide technical support to the Balranald mine site with respect to the electrical infrastructure on site including HV distribution, Hybrid power station, LV distribution, Variable Speed Drives - both HV & LV, Citect SCADA and instrumentation Solve complex plant problems affecting asset performance on-site Lead in the development of maintenance strategies for electrical plant to ensure optimal performance and reliability Initiate technical studies to investigate process improvements and optimisation solutions that deliver asset performance improvement Lead the electrical Engineering site requirements and Electrical Control Plans as required under NSW legislation Take ownership of the HV processes and the electrical reticulation About You Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering Practicing certificate or registration on the National Engineering Register - capable of holding statutory position as electrical engineer on site Generalist experience in electrical engineering preferably involving plant maintenance, design, sustaining capital development projects in a mining environment Experience with HV OHL design, process control systems, instrumentation, VSDs and protection coordination Demonstrable leadership in critical thinking, framing problems, developing solutions, managing and implementing projects Our Offer to You Family friendly roster - DIDO from towns outside the regional area or FIFO from Melbourne or Adelaide New camp facilities Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture Up to 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave Ability to Purchase Additional Annual Leave Competitive Salary and Bonus Structures Company share matching scheme We are committed to upholding our Business Values, supporting equal opportunities, gender equality and cultural diversity.
